What is ketamine?

Ketamine is an FDA-approved rapid-acting medication that has a 50-year track record being utilized as a safe anesthetic, and a 20-year history as a safe, long-term chronic pain treatment.

More recently, ketamine has been proven to rapidly relieve depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in a significant number of treatment-resistant patients. While not FDA-approved for these latter indication, ketamine therapy is in widespread use across the psychiatric community with great success bringing patients back to health.

how is ketamine administered?

The standard ketamine therapy treatment is administered intravenously (IV). Oral and Intramuscular (IM) routes of administration are also done at Bay Ketamine, although the IV modality is currently the best studied and most reliable route for the treatment of depression.
